But it has a real purpose.

CTPL, or Compulsory Third-Party Liability insurance, is the government’s way of making sure basic financial support is available if another person is injured or dies because of an accident involving your vehicle.

It does not cover damage to your own vehicle — pang comprehensive motor insurance kasi yun.

But CTPL helps address one of the most basic responsibilities that comes with driving: being able to respond if someone else is hurt in an accident involving your car.

A simple first step: visit the BPI MS website and go to Claims.

From there, you can check the requirements, download the needed forms, and prepare the documents based on your type of claim. For travel insurance claims, you may also use the Travel Claims Portal for a more convenient filing process.

Before submitting, make sure your forms are filled out clearly and your supporting documents are complete and readable.
