The right time to get insured isn’t when you need it, it’s while you still have the choice.

While others are already building their ideal insurance coverage, you might still be wondering if you really need one.

But the question isn’t “Do I need insurance?”
It’s “What happens if I need it and I don’t have it?”

Don’t wait for a health scare or financial setback to make the decision for you. Start preparing while you still have options. 🛡️

You don’t have to choose, you need both.

Your life insurance coverage, divided by your household’s monthly expenses, gives an estimate of how many months of financial provision you are leaving for your family if you pass away.

And that’s assuming none of it is used for funeral, burial, or other final expenses. If a portion of the proceeds goes toward those costs, the actual financial support left for your loved ones will be even less.

One of the most common mistakes I see is parents insuring their children while remaining uninsured or inadequately insured themselves.

Many parents say they want insurance “for their kids” and end up getting the kids insured first. But if the goal is to protect the children financially, it often makes more sense to insure the parents, the income generators, and make the children the beneficiaries.

After all, the parents are usually the ones earning the income and paying the bills. If a parent dies, becomes disabled, or gets critically ill, the family’s finances are at risk, not because the child was uninsured, but because the breadwinner was.

The best insurance “for your kids” is often insurance on the parents.

“SAYANG LANG PALA MGA HINULOG KO NG ILANG TAON, WALA NAMANG NANGYARI”

Bakit?

Now imagine this. You own a convenience store, a 24/7 one, parang 7-Eleven.
-
You hire two security guards for two shifts. Let’s say you pay ₱35K for each of them to their agency. So that’s a total of ₱70K a month na gastos.
-
Now why did you hire them? Obviously, to protect your store. To make sure no robbery or theft happens, or emergencies such as fire, destruction of property, etc. which could cost you thousands of Pesos or more.
-
It works the same way when you get an insurance policy. There’s a cost for the protection from loss, there’s a cost for the peace of mind.
-
And how ridiculous it is na bawiin mo ang pinangsweldo sa security guards dahil wala namang nangyari is how ridiculous it is to say na dapat ay ibalik ang pinambayad o buong hinulog sa insurance policy dahil wala namang nangyari.
-
Although there are policies out there that give a total premium return when you hit a certain age with no claim, still the insurance company made money out of what you put in.
-
Insurance is a win-win business, just like any other. You pay through your premium, and the insurance company gives you financial protection. That’s it!
-
And if a business owner is willing to spend around ₱70K a month to not lose thousands to a few millions, bakit ayaw mong magpa-insure when you’re worth more than millions? Think about it.

Many people end up with the wrong insurance policy because they’re only looking for the lowest premium.

The cheapest policy isn’t automatically the most suitable one.

Before comparing prices, it’s important to understand the different insurance structures, how they work, their advantages, limitations, and which risks they are designed to address.

A quotation only tells you the cost. A proper discussion helps determine whether the policy actually fits your needs.

Buying insurance based on price alone is like buying medicine based on cost alone, without first knowing what you’re trying to treat.
