What does "comprehensive" really cover?
A lot of car owners think comprehensive insurance means "covered for everything" — but it's more specific than that.
Here's what's typically included:
✅ Own Damage (collision, accidental damage to your car)
✅ Theft (full or partial)
✅ Fire
✅ Acts of Nature (add-on) — flood, typhoon, earthquake
✅ Third-Party Liability (damage/injury to others)
What it usually does NOT cover: wear and tear, mechanical breakdown, or damage while driving under the influence.
Knowing exactly what's in (and out of) your policy is the first step to making sure you're actually protected when it matters.
