Where is our Ark? 🌧️🇵🇭
For weeks, Filipinos have been watching the rain fall, the floodwaters rise, and families struggle to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.
It made me think about Noah's Ark.
Noah couldn't stop the rain. But he was told to build an ark—to prepare before the waters came, and to make sure others were safe.
Today, we have to ask ourselves:
Where is our ark?
We know the Philippines will continue to face typhoons and heavy rains. We cannot control the weather. But we can build stronger communities. We can build effective infrastructure. We can prepare better.
And with the ongoing questions surrounding our country's flood-control projects, we also have to ask for something more:
Where did the money go?
Were the projects really built?
Were they built properly?
And who should be held accountable when they fail?
Because flood control should never exist only on paper.
A flood-control project that cannot protect people when the water rises has failed its purpose.
The story of Noah's Ark reminds us that preparation matters. But an ark that was promised, budgeted, or reported as completed—yet isn't there when the flood comes—cannot save anyone.
So let us pray for those affected.
Let us help those we can.
Let us prepare our families.
But let us also continue asking for transparency, accountability, and flood-control systems that actually protect Filipino lives.
We may not be able to stop the rain.
But we can choose to build an ark that is real.
🌈🇵🇭 May we build before the next storm—not after another tragedy.
