Long post ahead.
Three years ago, I offered my sister a life insurance policy with a critical illness benefit that also included an investment component from Sun Life of Canada (Phils.) Incorporated. Initially, she was hesitant and only availed it out of annoyance due to my persistence. I was very determined that all of my siblings had at least a financial cushion in the event of an unforeseen circumstance.
Then the unexpected happened. My sister was diagnosed with thyroid carcinoma, a life-threatening illness. The diagnosis was shocking and terrifying for our entire family. The doctors informed us that surgery was needed as soon as possible to remove the cancer cells.
By the grace of GOD the surgery was successful. Along with it came a long list of medical bills. Such as Hospital Bills, Doctors' Professional Fees, Aftercare Radiation therapy among others.
The financial burden that resulted from her operation drained her savings. One of her hope in order to recover financialy was her Sun Life insurance. She filed a claim on her critical illness benefit with Sun Life Insurance. We were anxious about the process, not knowing what to expect during such a stressful time. To our immense relief, the claim process was smooth and efficient. Sun Life Insurance handled everything with the utmost professionalism and care, providing the financial support we desperately needed.
Thanks to the critical illness benefit, my sister was able to recover the amount of the operation with room for aftercare services as the critical illness benefit claim she recieved amounted to 500,000.00 pesos. Sun Life truly came through for us when we needed it the most, providing not just financial support but also peace of mind during one of the most challenging times in our lives.
I am incredibly grateful to Sun Life for their critical illness benefit, and I am thankful that my sister decided to avail of the policy despite her initial reluctance. This experience has reinforced my belief in the importance of having such coverage, and I strongly encourage everyone to consider it for their loved ones. You never know when it might become a crucial lifeline.
