MSSD-Omar Distributes 17 HADIYA CARE PACKAGES FOR THE ELDERLY TO SENIOR CITIZENS ACROSS VARIOUS BARANGAYS IN OMAR MUNICIPALITY
On June 24-25 & July 1, 2026, The Ministry of Social Services and Development – Omar Municipality Field Office conducted a series of home visits to various barangays of Omar Municipality to deliver 17 BOXES OF HADIYA CARE PACKAGE FOR ELDERLY to selected senior citizens.
The identification of beneficiaries was done through an immediate survey and interviews with community members to determine senior citizens who are bedridden or have existing medical conditions.
The distribution per barangay is as follows:
- Lahing-Lahing: 3 boxes
- Angilan: 1 box
- Andalan: 1 box
- Capual Island: 2 boxes
- Huwit-Huwit: 3 boxes
- Niangkaan: 2 boxes
- Sucuban: 1 box
- Tangkuan: 4 boxes
Among the recipients was a senior citizen whom we will refer to as "Lola". Due to her medical condition and mobility challenges, MSSD-Omar coordinated with the Rural Health Unit of Omar Municipality under the leadership of Attending Physician Dr. Najib Majod on July 01, 2026.
During the home visit, aside from the HADIYA Care Package, Lola was also provided with a cane for mobility support and a bucket hygiene kit to address her immediate needs and improve her well-being.
As part of the activity, RHU Omar conducted a medical assessment. This collaboration also enabled MSSD staff to properly orient Lola and her family members on the safe and correct use of the medical equipment included in the HADIYA Care Package.
Lola underwent a thorough medical check-up and was promptly provided with the necessary medication from RHU Omar. The provision of the cane was particularly significant as she is experiencing difficulty in walking due to her health condition.
MSSD-Omar reaffirms its commitment to delivering responsive, accessible, and people-centered social services to vulnerable sectors, in line with the Ministry’s mandate to ensure that no one is left behind.
