Almost two months ago (am back :), sorry for keeping you waiting), my last post was regarding Inflation and how it affect us. I also mentioned that the key to fight against inflation is by investing our hard money in an instrument that will give us a better than inflation rates (as of May 2015, inflation is @ 1.6% and 2.2% Year to Date – source: www.psa.gov.ph). However the question is where should we put our money to give us the returns that can fight against it.
There are many investment instrument that we can choose from and I would like to share with you some of it.
1. Savings Deposit (Time Deposit and Special Savings Arrangements) : A deposit account held at a bank or other financial institution that provides principal security and a modest interest rate (annual rate ranges from 0.25% to 2% per annum)
2. Life Insurance: Life insurance aside from income protection can be source of cash. The cash value of a permanent life and the accumulated fund value of a variable universal life is considerably good.
3. Mutual Funds: An investment vehicle that is made up of a pool of funds collected from many investors for the purpose of investing in securities such as stocks, bonds, money market instruments and similar assets.
4. Stock Market: stock market makes it possible to grow small initial sums of money into large ones, and to become wealthy without taking the risk of starting a business or making the sacrifices that often accompany a high-paying career.
5. Commodity Investment (Gold, Silver): Commodities are raw materials used to create the products consumers buy, from food to furniture to gasoline. Commodities include agricultural products such as wheat and cattle, energy products such as oil and gasoline, and metals such as gold, silver and aluminium.
6. Real Property: Real estate investing involves the purchase, ownership, management, rental and/or sale of real estate for profit.
7. Business: The act of committing money or capital to a business with the expectation of obtaining an additional income or profit.
So which investment will best suit you, it would be depending on your financial goals and risk appetite.I will share you additional information on how this investment can help you achieve your financial goals. Please wait for my succeeding post.
