Company History

Manila Uni Capital Group Corporation

MANILA UNI CAPITAL CORPORATION started its operations on June 1994
by extending loans to market vendors and other persons with mayor’s
permit and post dated checks as collaterals. It suffered a downtrend
when many of its borrowers failed to settle their obligation. Due to
the increasing number of delinquent borrowers, the company in November 1995,
decided to serve a new market segment by catering to Social Security System and Government Service Insurance System (SSS & GSIS) pensioners.
From thereon, it has found a niche in lending to SSS pensioners where collection
is made thru the banking system. Although no hard collateral was offered,
the company was able to effectively control loan collection via assignment
of the clients’ passbooks or ATM cards where their monthly SSS and GSIS pensions are credited.
