But beyond its renowned role in carpentry, Tectona grandis, commonly known as teak, harbors a treasure trove of medicinal properties waiting to be explored.

Recent scientific investigations have shed light on the diverse therapeutic potential of Tectona grandis, unveiling its efficacy in treating a myriad of ailments. Abdul Kader Mohiuddin's study in the International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (2019, 4:18) reveals its potential in treating various ailments bronchitis, cough, vomiting, wounds, ulcers, diarrhea, and dysentery.

The flowers of the plant have shown antimicrobial abilities. Additionally, the roots, when powdered and mixed with water, are applied externally to alleviate rheumatic swelling.

The leaves of Sesbania grandiflora have traditional uses in treating nasal catarrh, night blindness (nyctalopia), and headache (cephalalgia). Various studies support the plant's diverse health benefits, including antioxidant, preventing urinary stones (antiurolithiatic), anticonvulsive, anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, against parasitic worms (anti-helminthic), anti-bacterial, and anxiety-reducing (anxiolytic) activities. Overall, the findings highlight the plant's potential as a natural remedy for a range of health issues.
