Chief 9FSFO Leads Unit Visitations and Financial Literacy Initiatives in Zamboanga Peninsula

The 9th Finance Service Field Office (9FSFO), led by their Chief, LTC ROGELIO A VILLAMANTE JR (GSC) FS PA, recently conducted a series of unit visitations across the Zamboanga Peninsula to strengthen communication and support with military units within their jurisdiction. The primary goal of these visits was to provide updates on the financial services offered by the 9FSFO, including the latest policies and procedures regarding the Philippine Army's financial transactions. These efforts aim to ensure that military personnel and civilian human resources are well-informed and able to access reliable financial support and guidance.

In addition to the updates, LTC VILLAMANTE spearheaded a series of Financial Literacy lectures designed to empower personnel with essential financial knowledge. The lectures were held at various units, including the 106th Infantry Battalion of the 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army under LTC LEO CRISTOPHER C CUNANAN INF (GSC) PA, based in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay Peninsula; the 97th Infantry Battalion of the same division led by LTC JIMMY J SANZ INF (GSC) PA in Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte; 1st Field Artillery Battalion of the Army Artillery Regiment under LTC ROGEL P OMICTIN ART (GSC) PA in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur; and 547th Engineer Construction Battalion, 54th Engineer Construction Brigade, under LTC BENJAMIN B CARAG II CE (GSC) PA, in Kuta Dao, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. These sessions aimed to promote financial literacy and security among the troops and civilian staff, emphasizing responsible financial management.

The commanders of these units expressed their gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging the importance of the financial updates and literacy programs in supporting their personnel. LTC VILLAMANTE assured them of the 9FSFO's continuous support and commitment to serve their needs effectively. He emphasized that the 9FSFO remains dedicated to providing comprehensive financial assistance and education, ensuring that military personnel and civilian human resources are equipped with the knowledge needed for financial stability and growth.

Promoting Well-being and Productivity: 9FSFO's Successful Stress Management Training

Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur - The 9th Finance Service Field Office (9FSFO) recently concluded a comprehensive Stress Management Training held at their Conference Room in Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. The training was designed to help personnel better cope with the challenges associated with their demanding workloads and diverse personalities among colleagues. Recognizing that a healthy mental state is essential for optimal performance, the session aimed to equip personnel with practical strategies to manage stress effectively, fostering a more harmonious and productive work environment for everyone involved.

Led by Dr. Moibe F. Olitres, GLPS Founder/Psychologist, a seasoned subject matter expert and lecturer, the training emphasized the importance of balancing both intelligence quotient (IQ) and emotional quotient (EQ) in stress management. Dr. Olitres highlighted that understanding and developing one's emotional intelligence is crucial in navigating workplace conflicts, personal frustrations, and the daily pressures faced by government personnel. Her approach provided participants with valuable insights into recognizing their emotional responses and adopting healthier coping mechanisms, ultimately encouraging a resilient and positive mindset.

9th Finance Service Field Office Celebrates 50 Years of Service and Dedication

On June 16, 2025, the 9th Finance Service Field Office of the Finance Center Philippine Army celebrated its 50th Founding Anniversary with a momentous event held at the Officers Clubhouse of the 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division in Kuta Major Cesar L Sang-an, Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. The occasion was a fitting tribute to the organization's rich history of service and dedication, highlighting the remarkable achievements under the current leadership while paying homage to the pioneering Chiefs of Office and personnel who tirelessly ensured the delivery of effective and efficient financial services to the units within their jurisdiction. The celebration was a testament to the office’s enduring commitment to excellence and its vital role in supporting the Philippine Army’s mission for five decades.
The festivities featured a series of meaningful activities that fostered camaraderie and recognition of milestones. A notable highlight was the Donning of Rank ceremony for Private First Class Jimboy L Toldanes (Inf) PA, who was recently promoted, symbolizing the organization's investment in nurturing the growth of its personnel. The event also included a heartfelt celebration of Sgt Gel C Projo’s birthday in June, alongside a post-Father’s Day activity that honored all fathers within the office, emphasizing the importance of family values and camaraderie. To deepen the spiritual and communal connection, a Thanksgiving Mass was held, bringing together officers and staff in prayer and reflection on the organization’s journey and blessings.
The evening culminated in a simple Anniversary Dinner that brought together internal and external stakeholders, fostering stronger bonds and shared pride in the office’s accomplishments. The gathering was an opportunity to acknowledge the collective efforts that have propelled the 9th Finance Service Field Office forward over the past fifty years, and to look ahead with renewed dedication. As the office celebrated this milestone, it also reaffirmed its commitment to continue delivering exemplary financial services, ensuring that its legacy of service endures for generations to come.
