It is home to the “Mother of all Philippine Festivals” – the Kalibo Santo Niño Ati-atihan Festival held every second week up to the third Sunday of January. Kalibo also boasts of world-class crafts top billed by the piña cloth, a product of painstaking labor from centuries-old, gender friendly tradition reflecting the Kalibonhons’ ingenuity and craftsmanship, and the multi-awarded mangrove forest

dubbed as Bakhawan Eco-Park brought into existence through the strong partnership of the government and private sectors. Being the economic, trade and educational center of northern Panay, Kalibo exudes the atmosphere of a city but maintains the quaint quality of rural living. It has numerous accommodation facilities, restaurants and bars, shopping centers, internet cafes, banks with ATMs and various means of transport to cater to the growing number of guests and tourists visiting Kalibo.
