GSIS NO MORE😭
The agony of the teachers family:
When I tell teachers to prepare for retirement and to get insured, the most common objection is : “MAY GSIS NAMAN AKO”.
Now, read this!! Do you know what will happen if the member dies before retiring? In this case, the heirs/beneficiaries got ZERO, ITLOG, NADA.

We need help on this, what to do and where to go? (Long Post, pls care to read)
Matapos ng lahat ng pagod, gastos, nasayang na oras at stress na dinanas ko, may karapatan naman siguro akong ilabas at ibuhos yung frustrations ko.
My father is a teacher for 32 years, retiring from work supposedly last July 13 this year. He did submit his application for retirement June 27 at GSIS Tacloban. And received by the agency same day as per Acknowledgedment Receipt na nakita namin. Unfortunately, that same day inatake siya and was admitted in the hospital. His co teachers advised me na makiusap sa GSIS na if pwede to adjust the retirement date considering the fatality of his health condition. Hindi na daw pwede kasi submitted na daw sa Manila Branch. Out of luck, Papa died July 2, 2019. Meaning to say 5 days na na process ang retirement niya ng agency.. I was even given the tentative computation of his Claims like SURVIVORSHIP, DEATH CLAIM AND LIFE INSURANCE. Since Papa died on service, half lang daw ng total retirement benefit na ma rereceive namin as heirs. (bisan 5 days na nga nareceive nira an application, grabe mga inconsiderate)
Pagkatapos ng pgluluksa namin, inasikaso ko yung GSIS FUNERAL/DEATH CLAIM niya and submitted October 2.
Binigyan ako ng tentative computation, pinaliwanag kung ano pang mga makukuha na benefits nya:
*Cash Surrender Value (Life Insurance Benefit)
*Survivorship Benefit (lumpsum)
*30k Funeral Claim
I submitted every paper they need. After roughly a month or over. lumabas yung resulta ng Cash Surrender Value (Life Insurance). Nagulat ako ZERO proceeds. I went to the agency personally for verification.. Was trying to calm down dahil a staff told us na my Survivorship pa daw around 360,000 that will be divided into us siblings then the process is on going na daw. And we'll just wait for a text message.. Then after a week I never received a message and went back to the agency to follow-up.. To my surprise, ZERO proceeds pa din.. Haaays!!!
Kasi daw may utang pa si PAPA kaya ibabawas daw dun. Hala!!.. Where is the so called INSURANCE? .. Bawal na mamatay ngayon on service, kulilat pamilya mo..
Im trying to calm myself but this is over.
We're not fighting this for money sake.. Ipaglalaban ko to dahil ayokong masayang yung 32 years senerbisyo ng Papa ko sa Gobyerno. He worked for this for his family, pinag paguran. Ikinamatay para sa pamilya
