MAGSAYSAY Receives PRC Blood Services Platinum Award

MAGSAYSAY was presented with ‘Blood Services Platinum Award’ by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) during the 2019 Blood Donors Recognition Program held at the PRC Logistics and Multipurpose Center in Mandaluyong City.

The Blood Services Platinum Award is an honor given by the PRC to organizations who are continuously supporting voluntary blood donation. MAGSAYSAY, for its part, was recognized for consistently serving the community as among the top organizers and providers of clean and safe blood through a quarterly blood donation drive. The initiative is made possible through the efforts of Homer Foundation, MAGSAYSAY’s corporate social development arm, in collaboration with the Human Resources (HR) and Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) teams.

In its 10-year partnership with PRC, MAGSAYSAY successfully acquired a total of 588 blood units from its MPs, crew members, and allottees -- who are the real heroes in saving precious lives. PRC also welcomed Carlito David, an MP from Magsaysay Shipping and Logistics (MSL) and an active AB+ blood type donor, to its exclusive donor group called ‘Blood Galloners Club’.

The award was presented by PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon and was received by Global Process Manager, Inc. (GPMI) Employee Wellness Specialist Filipinas “Ynas” Morales.

In addition, another award was received from St. Luke’s Medical Center Quezon City last July 18 in recognition of MAGSAYSAY’s selfless contribution and support to the hospital’s blood donation program.

Princess Cruises Celebrates Float Out of Enchanted Princess, Magsaysay Group CEO Doris Ho Named Madrina of New Ship

Princess Cruises celebrated yesterday, September 17, the float out of the Enchanted Princess at its building dock. Named madrina (or godmother) of Enchanted Princess to “bless the ship” and celebrate the flow of water into the ship’s building dock, is Doris Magsaysay Ho, Group President and CEO of the Magsaysay Group of Companies. The event, a significant construction milestone for Princess Cruises, at its Fincantieri Shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, marked the occasion of the ship officially meeting the ocean for the first time.

Princess Cruises President Jan Swartz sent a personal invitation to Ms. Doris Ho to serve in the special role of madrina -- following the Italian shipyard’s custom in celebrating the float out of a ship. Magsaysay is a long-standing partner of Princess Cruises in recruiting, training, and developing skilled crew members who work onboard its cruise lines global fleet.

“At Princess Cruises, our crew members are truly the heart of our company and the reason we are able to create memorable vacation experiences for our guests every day,” said Ms. Swartz. “Ms. Ho’s passion for the ship manning business and our seafarers led her to grow Magsaysay into the successful business it is today and we’re proud to employ more than 7,000 Filipino crew members onboard our ships. We’re honored to reflect on our successful partnership and proudly name her Madrina of Enchanted Princess.”

The 143,700-ton Enchanted Princess can carry 3,660 guests and will include the best of the stunning features found on Royal Princess, Regal Princess, Majestic Princess and Sky Princess, as well as new offerings that represent an evolution of the current ships’ designs. Now that it is afloat, the new Royal-class ship will be moved to the outfitting dock where final construction and interior furnishing will take place. It is scheduled to debut on June 19, 2020 with a season of Mediterranean cruises.

In the end, that will be what drives everyone to live and imbibe the corporate values of the company.”

During the launching, OTSI President Erik M. Nielsen conducted the presentation, The Role of Core Values in Organizations where he brought up important points regarding the role of core values in the success of a company. With the launching of the Living the Magsaysay Values program, OTSI together with Global Process Manager Inc. (GPM) lead the way in practicing the six Magsaysay Values in the workplace. Adds Erik Nielsen “OTSI is already at the forefront in the Magsaysay group of companies in terms of their work with KPIs and metrics. OTSI Wishes a Happy Mother’s Day to All

One Team Services Inc. (OTSI) wishes to show our appreciation to all mothers – and especially all working MP mothers - as we celebrate their efforts and sacrifice of holding a job next to the most important “job” in the world.

Actually we should be showing our gratitude daily, but outwardly the world has chosen to do it on Sunday when we need to lavish our mothers with flowers, chocolates, meals out, or whatever we can do for them.

OTSI acknowledges the working OTSI mothers and wish you all a wonderful day with your families on this special Sunday.
