Agdao Coop Humble Beginings
The cooperative was successfully registered to CDA on June 19, 1991. It was founded by a group of 21 people of agdao public market as with an initial paid up capital of Ph 63,000 pesos or individual paid up capital of Ph 3,000 each. AMVMPC was one of its program beneficiary of Credit Union Empowerment and Strengthening (CUES) Philippines, a project of the World Council
of Credit Unions, Inc. (WOCCU)which started in the year 2000. This intervention has given a great significance to AMVMPC as a young cooperative because the Cooperative’s image have dramatically improve in the community. In the year 2002 that AMVMPC changed its name to Agdao Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPC) to emphasize its acceptance of membership beyond Agdao public market. VISION

Agdao Coop is Davao's first Billionaire cooperative. This milestone was achieved as the cooperative celebrated its 26th Anniversary with a theme AMPC: A Billionaire at 26 on June 19, 2017. Because of this, the coop was awarded as the First Billionaire Cooperative in Davao City by the City Cooperative Development Office and the City Government of Davao on October 24, 2016.
