Take your money seriously (learned this the hard way)

Not here to preach, just sharing.

Before, ganito lang mindset ko:
If may extra → spend it.
Trips, coffee, random online shopping.
I work hard, so I deserve it, right?

Then nagkaroon ng emergency.

Hospital bill: ₱200,000+

And I realized… wala akong nakaready for that.

No health card.
No emergency fund.
No backup.
May savings pero sobrang liit.

So yes, umutang ako. From whoever I could.

That was the wake-up call.

It wasn’t that I wasn’t earning.
I just wasn’t thinking ahead.

Akala ko okay na basta may income.
Pero ibang level pala pag wala kang safety net.

Fast forward to now:

We started small.
- Built a health fund kahit maliit muna for now.
- Set aside emergency savings (not yet 6x our monthly expenses)
- Got insurance (kahit maliit pa coverage).

Lifestyle is simpler now.
Less impulse spending.

But honestly… mas tahimik na utak ko. Payapa.

Because if something happens again, hindi na kami totally unprepared.

Kaya If you’re earning right now…whatever amount… please take it seriously.

You don’t need to be rich to prepare.
You just need to be intentional.

Less “deserve ko to.”
More “future me will thank me.”

Because money isn’t just for enjoying life.
