Alam niyo ba na ang inyong insurance policy ay pwedeng ma-declare na "Null and Void" (walang bisa) kung kinuha niyo ito habang kayo ay physical na nasa abroad?

Maraming OFWs ang excited kumuha ng proteksyon para sa pamilya sa Pinas, pero kung hindi tama ang proseso, pwedeng mauwi sa wala ang inyong pinaghirapan.

Narito ang dapat ninyong malaman base sa ating batas:

1. Section 193 ng Insurance Code (RA 10607)
Ang sabi ng batas: โ€œNo person, company or corporation shall transact any insurance business in the Philippines unless authorized by the Commissioner.โ€ Ang lisensya ng mga kumpanya at agents ay para lamang sa loob ng Pilipinas.

2. IC Circular Letter No. 2020-109
Malinaw ang Insurance Commission: Ang "Remote Selling" ay para lamang sa mga taong nasa loob ng Philippine territory. Bawal ang tinatawag na "Cross-Border Selling."

Kung ikaw ay nasa Dubai, Japan, o Canada o saan man sa mundo at nag-apply ka sa agent mo sa Pinas:

Jurisdiction Issue: Ang transaksyon ay nangyari sa labas ng sakop ng batas ng Pilipinas.

Risk of Nullity: Kapag nalaman ng insurance company na nasa abroad ka nung kinuha ang policy pwedeng i-void ang contract.

Claim Denial: Ito ang pinaka-masakitโ€”sa oras na kailangan na ng pamilya ang claim, pwedeng ma-deny dahil ang pagbili ay itinuturing na "illegal transaction."

โœ… Ano ang solusyon para sa mga OFW?

Para maging 100% Legit at Protected:

Mag-apply habang naka-bakasyon sa Pinas: Siguraduhin na physically present ka sa Pilipinas kapag pumipirma o nagsu-submit ng application.

Consult a Professional: Magtanong sa inyong licensed Financial Advisor kung kailan ang pinaka-safe na oras para mag-apply.
