As per DOST-PAGASA Weather Forecast, issued at 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm Man-Yi (Pepito) continues to intensify and is forecast to enter the PAR Region this evening. The center of Tropical Storm Man-yi was estimated based on available data at 1,220 km East of Northeastern Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h movement. On the track forecast, PEPITO may make landfall over the eastern coast of Southern Luzon during the weekend (Nov. 16 or Nov. 17) bringing heavy to torrential rains and possible flash floods, hence, to prepare the general public on the possible effects of the impending typhoon and to ensure safety of all, the PDRRMC hereby orders the following:
1. SUSPENSION OF CLASSES Classes in all levels in both public and private are suspended effective tomorrow, Nov. 15, 2024, until lifted.
2. SUSPENSION OF WORK
• Work in both government and private institutions are suspended effective tomorrow, Nov. 15, 2024, until lifted.
Government offices involved in vital and emergency responses will remain operational to ensure continuity of public service.
3. The public is strongly recommended to postpone any mass gatherings and unnecessary travels, as well as make the necessary preparations for the impending typhoon.
4. The Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices concerned are advised to continuously monitor the weather condition within your area of responsibility, ensure that all response assets and manpower are on standby 24/7, conduct pre-disaster risk assessments and pre-emptive localized evacuation as needed.
