A few years ago, I had a stable job and a steady paycheck. I thought that was enough.

I was earning, spending, and enjoying life, but I wasn’t really preparing for the future. I kept telling myself, “I’ll start saving later.”

My biggest lesson in financial planning so far?

Life does not wait for you to feel “ready.”

Before, I thought financial planning was something you do kapag malaki na income mo, kapag stable ka na, kapag wala nang ibang priorities. But life humbled me.

As a mom, a wife of an OFW, and someone who shifted careers from corporate to full-time financial advising, I realized that uncertainty is always there. Kahit gaano ka kasipag, ka-planner, o ka-responsable, life can still surprise you.

Now, my definition of wealth changed.
It’s no longer just about money.
It’s about having choices.
Having protection.
Having time with family.
Having something to fall back on when life gets hard. 🥰

Not until nagkita kami ulit after maospital yung family member nila.

Kwento niya, sunod sunod daw yung gastos:
labs, gamot, check up, confinement.

Tapos bigla niyang sinabi sakin,
“Mas mahal pala talaga magkasakit no?”

Minsan akala natin nakakatipid tayo pag umiiwas sa insurance.
Pero mas mahal pala yung walang paghahandaan kapag may emergency.
