As a mom, an employee and a wife, life can get very busy.

Between work, family and daily responsibilities, it's important to take time to recharge and enjoy life too.

That's why I truly appreciate opportunities that allow me to step out of my routine, learn new things and experience life beyond work and household duties.

One of the things I'm grateful for is being part of IMG community that gives me the chance to travel with purpose.

It's not just about visiting beautiful places locally and internationally.

It's about personal growth, meeting inspiring people, learning valuable lessons and creating memories that I can treasure for a lifetime.

Hindi biro ang magbayad ng healthcare.

Every due date, ramdam mo yung pressure.
Kasi alam mong importante siya para sa future, para sa protection, para sa peace of mind.

Pero aaminin ko… may panahon na napatanong ako:
“Paano ko ito masusustain long-term?”

Back then, I only had small savings.

Wala akong investment, wala ring protection.

I was just a simple housewife and reseller ng iba’t ibang products online.
Everyday, nagpo-post ako ng items at naghihintay ng orders.

For every product sold, I earned around ₱20.
That ₱20 became my budget for load, pamasahe, dagdag puhunan, at iba pang expenses para maipagpatuloy ko ang maliit kong sideline.

Ang net income ko depende kung ilang items ang mabebenta, usually around ₱300 to ₱1,000 per month.

Sa maliit na kinikita ko, doon ko kinukuha ang pambili ko ng lotion, skincare, make-up, damit, at iba ko pang personal wants.

Pero kapag may emergency? Zero balance agad. Problemado na kung saan kukuha ng pang check-up at pambili ng gamot.

Then I met IMG.

Doon ko unang natutunan kung ano ang Emergency Fund at bakit ito mahalaga.

Natuto ako na may tinatawag palang Mutual Fund para makapag-ipon at makapag-invest para sa future - for retirement at educational fund ng mga anak.

Natuto ako na may potential income pala dito sa financial industry which helps me grow my savings and investment.

Natuto rin ako tungkol sa short-term at long-term healthcare - back-up para sa sakit mula ngayon hanggang pagtanda.

Natuto ako na may affordable life insurance na may coverage for normal death, accidental death, critical illness, at terminal illness with Premium Deposit Fund (PDF).

Natutunan ko rin na may memorial plan na around ₱500/month lang ang premium for a 50-year-old client, payable for 5 years with ₱50,000 coverage. Mas mura pa kapag mas bata nagsimula.

At marami pang iba…

Kung hindi ako nagdesisyong makinig noon sa free financial literacy class ng IMG, baka hanggang ngayon wala pa rin akong alam tungkol sa financial products at tamang paghawak ng pera.

Kaya sobrang thankful ako sa mentor ko na nag-invite sa akin noon.

Isang invitation lang ang naging simula ng pagbabago sa buhay ko.

That was my humble beginning.

I was a nobody who became somebody because of the people who truly cared for me and for my future.

Kaya kapag ini-invite kita sa class, ibig sabihin nun, I care for you too.

I want to pay forward the help that I once received.

That’s the lifelong learning we have here in IMG.

Hindi madaling mag-manage ng pera.
Mas humirap pang kumita ngayon.

Kaya kung wala kang tamang financial education, community at platform, mas lalo magiging mahirap ang lahat.
