A meaningful convergence of cooperative leaders at the National Cooperative Bank (NCB) Headquarters on Crystal Drive in Arlington, Virginia, bringing together CLIMBS, NCBA CLUSA and CDF, NRECA International, and NCB to exchange insights on how cooperative enterprise can advance inclusive growth and build stronger, more resilient communities.
The dialogue was led by Doug OโBrien, President and CEO of NCBA CLUSA, and hosted by Casey Fannon, President and CEO of NCB, together with Kate Steel, Senior Vice President of NRECA International. Representing CLIMBS were Vice Chair Fr. Elmo Manching, President and CEO Noel D. Raboy, Senior Vice President Donna C. Dizon, and CDF.
Discussions focused on strengthening the cooperative ecosystem through cooperative finance, inclusive insurance and risk protection, renewable energy, cooperative education, integrated member services, and advocacy. Central to the conversation was the importance of cooperative identityโensuring that as cooperatives innovate, scale, and compete, their values, principles, democratic ownership, and member-centered purpose remain at the heart of growth.
The meeting reaffirmed the power of Cooperation among Cooperatives across bordersโconnecting institutions, knowledge, advocacy, and resources to strengthen cooperative identity and create lasting value for members, communities, and future generations.
