On May 28, 1898, after the historic Battle of Alapan, General Emilio Aguinaldo raised our flag for the very first time. It didn’t just mark a military victory—it ignited the spirit of a free Filipino nation. 🇵🇭🔥
Starting TODAY, May 28, until June 12 (Independence Day)—and sometimes extended to June 30—we’re all encouraged to proudly display the Philippine flag in our homes, offices, schools, and even vehicles. Let’s wear our pride, not literally—but the right way. 😉
🚫 Bawal ba talaga ‘yan?
YES! Under the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines (RA 8491), these are common but prohibited practices:
❌ Using the flag as clothing, costume, or fashion piece
❌ Printing the flag on commercial items like bags, mugs, or ballers
❌ Displaying the flag with red on top (unless the country is officially at war)
❌ Letting the flag touch the ground, be torn, or fade due to neglect
⚠️ You might be disrespecting the flag and not even know it!
