Butuan City Rural Bank was first established on January 31, 1954, by its founding President, former Congressman, and former Mayor Guillermo R. Its primary purpose is to serve the people of Butuan City, especially small farmers, tenants, businessmen, and entrepreneurs. Flores Avenue, the bank has since found a permanent home in a bigger and more spacious building on A.D. Curato Street. Despite the

opening of other commercial banks in the city, it has not affected the bank's business transactions; in fact, it has made it stronger.
