Our Story

Established in 1999, the First Agro-Industrial Rural Bank, Inc. – FairBank – has been one of the multi-awarded countryside financial institutions in the province of Cebu, having been recognized for its microfinance loan for the microentrepreneurs. “Helping the un- and under-banked help themselves” is the essence of microfinance.

BSP’s nod to acquire the Bank by City Savings Bank and Union Properties Inc. last December 2016, have spurred the growth of the Bank to unprecedented heights and at a speed that will drive organic loan portfolio growth.

As of August 7, 2017, presence has almost tripled – from 12 locations to 31 locations! FairBank has also extended its reach from just the Cebu province to cover already Bohol (with five locations), Negros Occidental and Oriental with nine locations and Masbate with two locations.

This aggressive growth is enabled by a mobile and digital access platform that allows the Microfinance Officer to utilize the tablet to facilitate for lead conversion to customer loan origination – hinging on the Group’s direction of agile technology-driven business models. This is entirely a different ball game, folks! We are no longer dependent on the brick-and-mortar model to propel us but with mobile and digital solutions, we achieve the vision of bringing the Bank to the customer.
