Everything I own fits on this walking cart!
That’s a sentence I never expected to say, but here I am today.
My possessions total to around 100, depending on how you want to define a possession.
~20 items of natural fiber clothing
~15 items for my natural personal hygiene
A tent that is currently my home along with a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, pillow and blanket to get quality rest wherever I settle in for the night.
A wood stove and pot to cook wherever I am. Basic items for cooking, storing food and eating. A gallon jug and quart jar to hold my water. A multi-tool knife for, oh so many tasks.
A few items of technology including my computer, headphones, camera, headlamp and battery.
A few books, a notebook, maps and a pencil.
A backpack, daypack and of course the walking cart!
Everything I own is right here, nothing stored elsewhere, and I am joyous to be in this present moment, not attached to many possessions or financial involvements that would spread me thin.
I am home on Earth and I am part of an interconnected humanity, sharing and exchanging with one another, living this life together, each on our own journey, yet connected.
The plants and animals are my friends and I relate to them to meet many of my needs.
By living simply, I live free. By living free, I can dedicate myself to serving others.
For those interested in learning about my possessions and how they aid me in living a simple and sustainable life, I’ve filmed a video that shares all the items and my philosophy behind this lifestyle. Along with this, I have written an article that lists every item and shares more details.
For those interested in simplifying and downsizing their life, I have included my resource guide to assist you.
I am currently walking from Canada to Los Angeles, 900 miles into the 1,550 mile journey. This walk is a vessel to bring my life into a deeper state of integrity. When I arrive in LA, I will give away everything you see here (concisely EVERY single thing) and enter into an experiment of complete non-ownership for a period of time
I am eager for that stage to begin, but for the next 2 months I will joyously walk, day by day, with my entire worldly possessions in this cart.
Love,
Robin
