One of the things that made me smile recently was seeing Arq Rodel, one of our new advisors, take this important first step in his career.

After getting coded, his first policy wasn't for a client.

It was for himself.

In fact, he immediately chose to have two protections for himself.

And for me, that's more than just a transaction. It's a meaningful milestone.

Because before we encourage other people to think about protecting their future, we also need to understand what it feels like to make that decision for ourselves.

𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐥.

I honestly didn’t expect that my work would lead to an opportunity to visit Seoul, Korea and watch an exclusive AIA K-Pop concert.

K-Pop has never really been my thing, and going to Seoul was not something I had originally planned. But when an unexpected opportunity comes, I believe it is worth being grateful for and embracing.

This opportunity came in recognition of my achievement as a 𝑻𝒐𝒑 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒔.

What makes this experience meaningful to me is that I never started this journey simply for the rewards.

ɪ ꜱᴛᴀʀᴛᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴅᴏɪɴɢ ᴍʏ ʙᴇꜱᴛ. Serving my clients well, continuously learning, showing up consistently, and helping others discover the opportunities in this profession.

Over time, I learned that when you remain committed to your work and purpose, opportunities can come in ways you never expected.

This experience reminded me that the reward may be unexpected, but the effort behind it is intentional.

I am grateful to AIA for this recognition and opportunity, and most of all, grateful for the journey that brought me here.

Welcome to AIA Philippines Next Gen Elite (NGE) advisor Krisma Bugasto!

Krisma is a licensed nurse and a business owner. Her husband is an OFW Engineer so she joggles running a business and being a mom to her kids. She is also an avid fan of SB19 who are the newest brand ambassadors of AIA.

For a long time, I thought earning more was the answer.

More income meant more opportunities, more things we could provide for our family, and more financial goals we could pursue.

But as I grew older, I realized something:

𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑒𝑛𝑗𝑜𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢'𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑?

Time with family.
Time to take care of yourself.
Time to travel, learn, rest, and simply be present.

So maybe the goal isn't to choose between income and time.

Maybe it's to find a career that gives you room to work toward both.

That's one of the things I appreciate about financial advising.

It allows me to continue learning, build meaningful relationships, help clients work toward their financial goals, and build a career that can evolve with my life and priorities.

Of course, flexibility still requires discipline, consistency, and intentional time management. But having more control over how I manage my time has allowed me to grow professionally without losing sight of what matters personally.

Maybe you don't have to choose between earning more and living more.

Maybe the real question is:

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥.

When I received the Gold Centurion Award, I felt grateful and proud, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑚𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡.

The award represents the result, but behind it were many ordinary days of showing up, learning, and doing the work.

I realized that the same sipag and dedication I had in academe, I brought with me when I became a financial advisor.

I was used to preparing lessons, meeting students, and patiently explaining concepts until they understood.

As a financial advisor, I found myself doing something very similar.

I made time to meet clients, listen to their goals, explain financial concepts, and help them understand how they could make more intentional financial decisions.

There were challenging seasons, of course. But I learned that 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

And over time, I realized that success becomes more meaningful when your work isn't just about achieving something for yourself.

It's about knowing that along the way, you were able to help people move closer to their financial goals.

The Gold Centurion Award is a milestone I'm truly grateful for.

But the real reward is the growth, the people I've helped, the lessons I've learned, and the person I've become along the way.
