Ano nga ba ang CA? Ano ang pinag aaralan ng CA? Bakit may CA? The Customs Administration program focuses mainly on the import and export process of the country and in the international trade. Right! We deal on the different laws, orders and agreements regarding the international trade. Our main law is the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) which superseded the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines. Ano ang pinag aaralan sa CA? Aside from the different laws, we also tackle Supply Chain Management, computation of duties, taxes and other charges due to the government, classification of import and export commodities and the different agreements entered into by the Philippines. To wit, these are the ASEAN, WTO, WCO, and the different trading partners of the Philippines.
Most of the people who know nothing about the course says na kapag Customs ka, madaling yumaman or worst, corrupt! To answer this long long ago notion - NO! WE, CUSTOMS AD STUDENTS AND GRADUATES, ARE NOT CORRUPT! Tandaan, magkaiba ang Bureau of Customs at ang CA. BOC is an agency of the government handling the import and export process of the country while Customs Ad is a course leading to becoming a "LICENSED CUSTOMS BROKER." LCB is a profession engaged in the private practice which helps the importers and exporters to release their shipments in the BOC. Pwede ka bang mag apply sa BOC? Absolutely YES!! If I will be given the chance to suggest to the President, I strongly suggest that an appointed Commissioner of Customs should be knowledgeable in customs and tariff matters - and that is us, the Customs Administration graduates.
Many says, madali lang ang Customs. Memorization lang yan. Books lang yan. Excuse me? Talk to my AHTN! Talk to my CMTA book! Talk to my CAO and CMO compilations! Talk to my rates! TALK TO MY CALCULATOR! Yes, merong memorization because we need to memorize the different provisions of the CMTA in order to interpret it and apply to situational problems. Yes, merong memorization because we need to memorize our rates in order for us to compute the duties, taxes and other charges due to the government. We need to know the rules in classification to classify articles correctly or else, mali na lahat. So tell me! Tell me! Madali lang? CHAROT ๐ Of course, hindi ka mahihirapan sa course na to if you have the perseverance and determination in your studies. Walang mahirap na course. Its just on how you deal with your studies.
The LICENSED BROKER PROFESSION - after finishing your degree BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATION, you will take the licensure exam for Customs Brokers given by the Professional Regulation Commission. They say CBLE is one of the hardest board examinations next to Bar Exam because of the passing rate of examinees yearly.
