Clark, Pampanga proudly shares its recognition at the 3rd Kadugo Awards organized by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Central Luzon, held last November 28 at Hilton Hotels & Resorts Clark in Pampanga. With the theme โGive Blood, Give Hope, Save Lives,โ the event honored 315 institutions that contributed to the regionโs blood donation efforts, composed mostly of government agencies, civic organizations, and volunteer groups. Among all the awardees, We are stood out as the only banking institution in Central Luzon to receive this distinction, underscoring its strong commitment to humanitarian service and community support.
The ceremony began with a message from Gov. Edward Thomas F. Joson, PRC Board of Governors member and Chairman of the Nueva Ecija Chapter, who emphasized that while blood donation is inherently fulfilling, it is equally important to recognize the people and institutions sustaining Central Luzonโs blood banks. He also shared a personal account of how the Red Cross extended support when his father needed blood during a battle with cancerโan experience that highlights the importance of continuous generosity and service from partner organizations. PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn T. Pang, speaking on behalf of the national office, delivered an inspiring message, reminding everyone that โone bag of blood is not just a bagโit is a symbol of hope and a symbol of life.โ She also reported that Central Luzon collected 53.4 thousand bags of blood last year, directly helping more than 30,000 patients nationwide, and commended Zambales for being the regionโs top donor.
