‘Megaworld giving city something very exciting'

Megaworld Corporation will launch its first condominium development at its Upper Easttownship in Bacolod City next year, Harold Geronimo, Megaworld senior assistant vice president and head of public relations and media affairs, said yesterday.
Megaworld will also be able to present the township's initial masterplan as it starts the Upper East development in 2018, he said.
“We will be giving Bacolod something very exciting in Upper East, something you have not seen in any of our townships yet… the Upper East will be the next central business district of the city of Bacolod,” he said.
The Upper East is located on a 34-hectare property that used to be the Bacolod-Murcia Milling Co. bounded by Burgos Street on the north, Lopez Jaena Street on the west and Circumferential Road on the east and is just across the Bacolod City Government Center.
Megaworld has access to all the roads leading to the Upper East already, which will open up the township that will have a main road inside, that will help solve the traffic problem in the eastern part of Bacolod, he said.
The Upper East will be Bacolod's own version of an upscale lifestyle district where residential condominiums, malls and commercial centers, BPO office towers, tourism and leisure facilities as well as recreational parks and open spaces are integrated to create an exciting live-work-play, he said.
Megaworld is investing P35-billion to build The Upper East, along with Northill Gateway, in Negros Occidental.
Northill Gateway is located on a 50-hectare property along the Circumferential Road at the boundary of Talisay and Bacolod cities.
Northill Gateway will start turning over residential lots at Forbes Hill by the last quarter of next year, Rachelle Penaflorida, VP for sales and marketing, said.
Megaworld will also start constructing the Northill Town Center next year and will be operational by 2019, he added.
Under construction and expected to be ready by midnext year will be the clubhouse and grand fountain of Forbes Hill, Penaflorida said. *CPG
