Position Vacancy: Branch Manager, Lae office
Location: Lae, Morobe province

The role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Branch Manager will be responsible for maintaining the Lae office. The role will manage the daily activities of the office with duties such as business development and underwriting.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities of the office
- Point of contact for updates regarding operational results.
- Develop new business through selling and marketing activities
- Resolve escalated issues arising from operations that require coordination with Head Office in Port Moresby.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Business Management or related discipline
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a senior branch officer role
- Sound knowledge of insurance and best practices
- Experience with Management information systems
- A person with good work ethics and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Position Vacancy: HUMAN RESOURCES & ADMIN MANAGER
Location: Port Moresby

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources & Admin Manager will be responsible for the human resources and the admin / office management function of PMMI.
Key responsibilities
• Providing sound HR advice and guidance to management and staff in line with company policies and employment legislation.
• Develop HR policies, and ensure staff compliance with HR policies and procedures.
• Coordinate the company’s recruitment and selection process, including promotions and internal staff transfers.
• Support the HR benefits and payroll function of the company.
• Plan and coordinate the company’s change management, and training and development activities.
• Coordinate the performance management and review processes, including the development and update of position descriptions and KPIs.
• Drive culture, people development and recognition initiatives.
• Support line managers in dealing with poor work performance and staff misconduct in accordance with HR policies and procedures.
• Handle staff grievances appropriately and provide sound advice in line with the HR Policies.
• Manage the administration team in ensuring a high quality service is provided to both internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline.
• At least three (3) years hands-on experience in a HR Manager role.
• Sound understanding of HR laws and best practices.
• An innovative thinker who is able to implement new HR and admin initiatives in the workplace.

The vehicles are available for inspection at PMMI office, Level 4 of Pacific MMI Building, Down Town from 04 April 2022 to 19 April 2022 between 10am – 2pm.

At PMMI, we encourage continuous learning at work because this gives our people the opportunity to learn additional skills and develop their capabilities both at work and in life.
Congratulations to our team members Harry Hopahai, Posa Haro, Eunice Jack and Martha Goma for completing a 2 days training on MS Excel at Datec Learning Centre. MS Excel is an important skill we recognize in our business, and this training has given our people the confidence to apply what they learn, and share their knowledge with others.

In spreading awareness this month about the impact of breast cancer, a team from PNG Cancer Foundation and Dr. Beena Dagam visited our office today for a with our female colleagues.

Dr. Beena shared real life stories of struggles faced by women living with cancer, clinics and hospitals to visit for checks, and steps to detect early signs of breast cancer.

A greater appreciation from our team for this educational session. It is now our time to share this learning with our families and the community we live in, to fight the stigma and misconception around any form of cancer.

Thank you Dr. Beena Dagam and PNG Cancer Foundation.

Every Friday, the PMMI Social Club provides lunch which rostered staff members prepare. The company pays for each plate of food thus supporting the social club's fundraising drive - way to go PMMI Management!
