Celebrating a journey of growth and achievement at MiBank
"This journey has been a whirlwind of learning, growth, and self-discovery," says Stavy Tipora Pareka who hails from Imbonggu District in Southern Highlands province. Stavy is the Human Resource Officer with MiBank.
She did these remarks after her graduation on Monday 12th October, 2026. Stavy graduated from the PNG Human Resource Institute (PNGHRI) with an Associate Degree in Human Resource Management. Prior to that, she obtained an Advanced Certificate and also a Diploma in Human Resource Management also from PNGHRI.
She says, “completing this consecutive pathway allowed me to build a strong foundation, equipping me with strategic HR tools and practical skills”.
Stavy has been with the organisation for nine years, her journey in Human Resource initially started as an Assistant HR with PNG Microfinance Limited in 2017. Following the transition to Nationwide Microbank in 2020, she took on her current role as the Human Resource Officer, of which she has held for the last six years.
Stavy values the support from the Bank with her tuition fees. She said” it was a tremendous relief, by removing the financial burden, I was able to focus fully on my studies, remain determined, and complete the two-year program on a high note. This support not only motivated me to excel academically but also inspired me to give back and demonstrate my capability and gratitude to the bank. “
She acknowledged her manager, the Head of People and Culture Mrs. Wendy Piskaut Netias, her colleagues within the Human Resource Business unit & her family for their prayers, encouragement and support.
Stavy said, “collaborating closely with my colleagues and working alongside officers from different business units have been instrumental in sharpening my communication skills. These experiences have empowered me to perform at my best and contribute meaningfully to the organization.”
She adds, “one of the most significant privileges the bank offers is its commitment to staff development. By sponsoring committed, high-potential, and recommended employees for further upskilling especially in their designated roles, the bank demonstrates its dedication to nurturing talent. “

She acknowledged MiBank's former CEO Mr. Tony Westaway for his vision & commitment in empowering the employees. Stavy also acknowledged the current CEO, Mr. Trudi Egi for his support.
