Here's an insight into banking - if you have noticed your bank getting pretty picky when it comes to ID for their AML (anti-money laundering) requirements it may have something to do with the record AUD$1.3 Billion (yes that's Billion) penalty the Australian regulatory gave to Westpac - The highest penalty given outside the USA!! Definitely putting financial institutions on notice to adhere to the regulations
