Some evenings stay with you long after you've left the room, and last night was one of those evenings.
We were privileged to host Alexander Hillary, grandson of Sir Edmund Hillary, who shared stories about growing up as a Hillary, the extraordinary legacy of his grandfather, what it is like living in the light of that legacy, and the ongoing work of the Himalayan Trust in Nepal.
Alexander's authenticity, humility and passion shone through throughout the evening. Of the 100 or so people who joined us, we don't think anyone left the room uninspired.
We also heard from Patricia Sexton, who shared her experiences helping to build connections between Kiwi and Nepalese children through a pen pal exchange. Her stories were a wonderful reminder of the simple yet powerful ways people can foster understanding, friendship and connection across cultures and communities.
Together, we showed our support for the Himalayan Trust and the important work it continues to do in Nepal. More than that, it was an evening filled with inspiring stories, meaningful conversations, generous hearts and a shared sense of purpose. It reminded us of the incredible things that can happen when people come together for a cause that matters.
A heartfelt thank you to Alexander, Patricia, and everyone who attended and helped create such a positive and uplifting atmosphere.
