Insurance Council of New Zealand - ICNZ ICNZ is the representative organisation for general insurance companies in New Zealand.

Together our members write more than 95% of all general insurance in New Zealand, protecting over $2 trillion of New Zealanders’ assets. ICNZ’s te reo name – Te Kāhui Inihua o Aotearoa – translates to ‘the insurance association of New Zealand’. We have almost 30 members who collectively write more than 95 per cent of all fire and general insurance in New Zealand and accept the risks of over NZ$1 trillion of New Zealand’s assets and liabilities.

Extreme weather is no longer a rare event for many Kiwi communities 🌧️

This year alone, floods and storms have damaged homes, cut off towns and disrupted lives across Aotearoa. ICNZ Chief Executive Kris Faafoi says investing in flood protection, resilient infrastructure and smarter planning now can help keep communities safer in the future. Te Aukati i ngā Aituā / disaster prevention costs less than rebuilding afterwards.
