🏠 Weekly Reminder: Trust Deeds & EPAs Need Regular Updates!
This week’s highlight is an important one - if you have a Trust deed, it’s time to check if it needs renewing, and don’t forget to complete your Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA).
We just went through this process ourselves! Our sons are 18 and 21 this year, and when our Family Trust was originally set up, they weren’t even born. This week we updated everything - our EPA and Wills - to ensure our family wealth passes to them properly.
Before making these legal changes, we sat down with both boys to discuss our expectations and understand their own goals. Having a strong relationship with your children is crucial, especially if they’ll be part of your EPA. We’re fortunate to have that trust, but we know not every family enjoys the same dynamic with their adult children.
Our top recommendation?
Talk to a solicitor and find someone you trust to guide you through the process.
Your family’s financial future deserves proper planning and regular updates as life changes.
