💭 "How Much Should I Save for Retirement?" 💰

Figuring out how much to save can feel overwhelming, but here are five popular rules of thumb to help you estimate your retirement goal:

1️⃣ The 70-80% Rule: Aim to replace 70-80% of your pre-retirement income each year to maintain your lifestyle.

2️⃣ The 4% Rule: Save enough to withdraw 4% annually in retirement. For example, if you need $40k per year, aim for $1 million saved.

3️⃣ The Expenses x 25 Rule: Multiply your expected annual expenses by 25 to find your target. If you’ll need $50k per year, aim for $1.25 million saved.

4️⃣ The $1,000 Per Month Rule: Save $240k for every $1,000 you’ll need monthly in retirement. For example, if you need $3k per month, aim for $720k saved.

5️⃣ The 15% Rule: Aim to save 15% of your income annually starting as early as possible to build a solid nest egg over time. This is a fantastic strategy if you start young.

These are great starting points, but they’re no substitute for personalised advice. Your retirement plan should be tailored to your unique goals and lifestyle, taking into account a variety of factors. Speaking with a financial expert can help you create a strategy that sets you on the right track for a comfortable retirement

Take action now, and future-you will thank you! 🌟

🏡 What a Mortgage Pre-Approval can do For You 💪

1️⃣ Know Your Budget: A pre-approval tells you exactly how much you can borrow, so you can house hunt with confidence and avoid disappointment.

2️⃣ Stronger Negotiating Power: Sellers take you more seriously when you’re pre-approved—it shows you’re ready to make an offer.

3️⃣ Faster Process: Once you’ve found the perfect home, having a pre-approval can speed up the process, getting you closer to your keys faster.

Ready to get pre-approved? Let’s make it happen! 🏠✨

📊 What Better Time of Year to Take Control of Your Finances in 3 Simple Steps! 💰

1️⃣ Start a Budget: Take a few minutes to write down your income and expenses. Knowing where your money is going is the first step toward managing it better!

2️⃣ Essential vs. Non-Essential Spending: Break your spending into two categories—essentials like rent, bills, and groceries, and non-essentials like takeaways, subscriptions, and impulse buys.

3️⃣ Automate Your Essentials: Set up automatic payments for your essential expenses to come out as soon as you're paid. This keeps you organized and helps avoid missed payments.

Taking these steps can reduce stress, build financial confidence, and free up funds for your goals. 💡 Start today and feel the difference!

💭 What was the culture around money in your house growing up? 💭

Our beliefs about money often start at a young age. Whether it was about saving every penny, spending freely, or investing wisely, the lessons we absorbed as kids can have a huge impact on how we handle finances as adults.

Did your family openly talk about money? Were you encouraged to save, or was money a stressful topic? How do you think that has shaped you today? Is there anything you've had to unlearn as a result?

Need some money tips to get you through tough times?

Rather than cutting the things that truly bring you happiness, consider reviewing your top three expenses within your budget. Typically, these are:

Housing: Could you get a flatmate or student to help with housing costs? Could you review or refinance your home loan? You might be able to get a decent cashback incentive, secure a better rate, or pay off your lending faster.

Transport: Could you move from a two-car household to a one-car household? Are you burdened by expensive car payments? Compare the cost of those payments to public transport or downgrading to a cheaper car.

Food: Most people find savings here by creating a meal plan with a shopping list and planning intentionally for when they'd like to eat out.

Finding savings in your top three expense items is often more effective than cutting out a coffee expense here and there. Get in touch if you'd like help reviewing your lending.
