‼️ATTENTION ‼️

📅 May 12, 2025 marks 5 years since the Small Business Cashflow (Loan) Scheme launched—and that means: it’s payback time. 💸

As of April 30:

✅ 64,000 have repaid in full
❗ $853 million still remains unpaid
⚠️ 14,300 loans are in default, totalling $242 million

From June onwards, if your loan isn’t paid off, Inland Revenue will default it—and that means default interest of 13.88% and the potential for legal action. IRD is already chasing debts and making bank deductions.

The scheme was originally rolled out in 2020 to support small businesses hit by COVID-19, over 129,000 loans were issued—totalling $2.4 billion, with an average loan of $17,000. Most of those came with a 5-year repayment window, which is now up. ⏳

💡 You can check your balance, repayments, or update your plan via myIR—and if you’re behind, talk to IRD and your accountant before they talk to your bank!

Lower interest rates. Greater opportunity.

With the Reserve Bank’s recent OCR cuts, banks have lowered mortgage rates, making it more affordable to buy or invest in property. Lower repayments, increased borrowing power, and the potential for rising property values create a rare window of opportunity.

Savvy buyers and investors are already taking advantage—shouldn’t you?
