Each year, our people are given a day to give back to their local communities through Craigs Community Day, and across the country, they’ve been making it count.
Here are a few highlights:

📍BirdCare Aotearoa – Auckland - getting their hands dirty building an aviary for native rescue birds and clearing storm-damaged grounds.
📍Under The Stars - Homeless in Tauranga – preparing and serving food to people in community experiencing homelessness.
📍SPCA New Zealand – Auckland - creating promotional materials for an upcoming event, freeing up volunteers to focus on animal care.

We’re proud to see our teams getting involved and making a meaningful difference in their communities.

It has been a pleasure to work with the Top of the South Community Foundation to distribute our Workplace Giving funds on behalf of our Nelson and Blenheim teams.

Thanks to their support, our Workplace Giving donations have been distributed to seven incredible charities: Lifelinc, , Marlborough Community Foodbank, Nelson Women's Centre Marlborough Womens Refuge, Marlborough Four Paws (pictured below), Nelson Community Food Bank.

Marlborough Four Paws aims to reduce animal suffering, protect local bird life and mitigate the spread of animal disease by preventing the birth of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. Run entirely by volunteers, the charity said the donation would help to cover much-needed veterinary care.

In our latest Workplace Giving distribution, Craigs and its employees donated $200,000 to charities across New Zealand.

Through Craigs’ Workplace Giving, our people can elect to donate a portion of their monthly pay, and Craigs matches contributions up to $500 per employee annually. Since Workplace Giving began in 2020, total donations have exceeded $1 million.

Last week saw positive momentum across global markets, but beneath the surface, key risks remain.

Inflation is still running above target, rate expectations are evolving, and a busy week ahead, including central bank decisions and the SpaceX debut, could shape the next phase.

SpaceX is about to become one of the largest listed companies in the world, with an estimated valuation of almost US$1.8 trillion.

Whether this valuation is justified is an area of intense debate right now.

However, the more interesting story is what the SpaceX IPO tells us about the way financial markets themselves are evolving.

Join our Tent Talk at Fieldays: Investing Beyond the Farm

Local Investment Advisers, Hamish Don and Laura Flynn, will share their thoughts on the latest economic and market developments, and what these mean for investors.

For farmers focused on day-to-day operations, receiving a capital return or achieving strong profits can be a valuable opportunity to strengthen financial security.

While reinvesting in the farm or reducing debt may seem like the obvious path, it’s worth taking a moment to consider other options available. Off-farm investments can offer a valuable way to diversify income, reduce exposure to agricultural risks, and build long-term financial resilience.
