Formerly through Rotorua Handcrafts Limited, Memories of New Zealand Limited have been manufacturers and wholesalers of souvenirs and giftware since 1953. Started by George and Zilpha Coppard in their workshop behind their house, the business grew rapidly and within 3 years they built a factory at 96 View Rd, Rotorua where the business is still today. Back in the beginning, Rotorua Handcrafts prod
uced only carvings, some of which were very iconic, like the carved Pepper and Salt shakers which everyone remembers having a family member with a set. In 1987 Gary and Sandra Coppard, George and Zilpha's Son bought the business and in 1990 Memoires of New Zealand imported the first Laser Engraver into the country which they started to use in the production process. This allowed them to do intricate work which could not have been done before and today they now have 3 working non-stop to help produce over 250 products. Now 60 years on Gary and Sandra's children, the third generations are helping run the business. Our selling point is our large range of authentic New Zealand Made high quality products made from native timbers at a low price.
