From Friday, 19 December 2025, Customtone will be closed for three weeks as we take a well-needed break over Christmas and New Year with our families. This time allows our team to unwind, recharge, and prepare for another busy year ahead, with many exciting projects already in the pipeline.

We extend our appreciation to the families who continue to support our team. Your ongoing, unwavering support allows us to bring our best to every project and maintain the high standards we are proud to deliver.

A bigger thank you goes to our broader community. Your continued trust throughout the year has enabled our team to keep showcasing their craft — creating beautiful, high-quality spaces in homes across the region and beyond.

Last Friday afternoon, the Customtone Kitchens team and our families, came together socially at Blastacars Hamilton for some friendly competition with a few bruises left behind, followed by a relaxed BBQ and drinks to unwind. It was a great opportunity to connect as we continue into the final busy weeks, helping clients have functional & usable spaces as we head into the festive season.

This was another fun event — one that will certainly be added to the memory lane, with many stories sure to be shared in the months to come.

We created some award stars for the Ōtorohanga Fire Brigade’s long-service awards recently, so went along today to visit Darcy Lupton, recipient of a 50 years of service star. His tenure began August 30th 1975, but he originally tried to join in 1958.

“I lived outside the borough by 50 metres. The rules were that you couldn’t join if you lived outside the borough because we didn’t have cell phones, pagers, and all that sort so you had to be able to hear the siren. We could hear the siren quite clearly, but that was the rules!”

And has he enjoyed it? “The comradeship’s been terrific, really: a lot of people with similar interests.”

Customtone worked with Ken’s design to manufacture this Solid Oak fluted bespoke joinery piece.
