Meet Stephen and Ramona — and congratulations on your new home!

From their first conversation with Darrin in November to settlement in June, this has been quite the journey. Buying and selling at the same time is no small feat, and navigating two separate transactions to align perfectly at the end takes patience, planning, and the right support.

Meet Crystal, Nick and their beautiful family!

Crystal and Nick came to DM Consult needing guidance through what was a unique financing situation. After laying out the options and working through what made the most sense for their family, they made a confident decision and are now the proud first home owners of a property right in Nick's old neighbourhood in Havelock North — how special is that!

Meet Kieran 👊

Meet Courtney and Ethan

They were referred to Darrin by Courtney's parents and brother, who have previously used DM Consult's services.

After Courtney and Ethan have both spent years studying, travelling overseas, and securing careers in the HR industry, they both decided they were ready to purchase their first home.

Meet Rhys and Emily
They were referred to dm consult after deciding they were ready to purchase their first house together.
Darrin ran through the options with them, giving Rhys and Emily some time to consider their choices. After a short time, they wisely chose the option that provided the least course of resistance.

Meeting Jo, Hayden and their boys
Jo and Hayden have been clients of Darrin’s for many years and have consistently returned to him for advice when needed.
Their initial request this time was for a simple loan refix. However, they also asked their bank for a cash retention payment in recognition of their long-term loyalty. When the bank declined this request, they began exploring refinance options that would avoid conveyancing costs and include a cash contribution from the new lender.
Once the refinance was approved by the new bank, Darrin contacted their existing bank again to revisit the possibility of a retention payment. At that point, with the business now leaving, the bank made an offer.
Jo and Hayden found the offer disappointing, especially given that it was only made after they had already secured approval to move. They also felt the bank had been unsupportive during the high interest rate period when they were under financial pressure. These experiences contributed to their decision to refinance and move to a new bank.
Ultimately, it was a straightforward decision for them. They had met all their obligations with the existing bank, but felt the relationship lacked the support they had hoped for.

Meet Sam and Alannah,
These two are first homeowners, but they are taking a different track and building their first house. They contacted Darrin at dm consult to organise finance for the section purchase and the construction.
They are fortunate to have the support of family which has made the journey smoother for them rather than having to over borrow 80% of LVR.
They are now the proud owners of a section and are planning the next stage of the project which is the build!
