Tumu Transport proud to get behind our community! 🚛

From the Hastings Blossom Festival to Kids Ride in a Truck Day this Saturday, we love being part of events that bring Hawke’s Bay together.

We’ll have a few of our Tumu Transport trucks there, giving kids the chance to jump aboard and come along for a ride, while helping raise funds for Hato Hone St John, the Hawke’s Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust and Little Elms Charitable Trust.

A special milestone for Greytown Orchards Retirement Village.

Friday 25 September marked the official opening of The Lodge, the new heart of the Greytown Orchards community.

The day began with a kawanga whare and blessing led by Mātai Ammunson from Papawai Marae, before more than 100 residents, friends, whānau, local businesses and members of the wider community came together to celebrate.

South Wairarapa Mayor Dame Fran Wilde officially cut the ribbon, opening a fantastic new space designed for residents to connect, relax and enjoy.

A huge amount of work has gone into bringing The Lodge to life, with Tumu Property Project Manager Phil Elms leading the build and Suzy from Maho Interiors creating the beautiful interiors.

A big thank you also goes to the Greytown Orchards Lifestyle Retirement team for all their work behind the scenes. Their efforts helped make the opening a memorable day for residents, guests and the wider community.

Greytown Orchards is a valued part of the Tumu family of businesses, and The Lodge represents another significant investment in the village and the wider South Wairarapa community.

Spring was in full bloom at the 2026 Hastings Blossom Festival! 🌸

More than 20,000 people turned out to enjoy one of Hawke’s Bay’s favourite community events - and we were excited to be part of it.

This year, we sponsored the Tumu Carnival, giving families the chance to enjoy the rides for free. We also parked up the new Tumu Transport truck, handed out stickers and lollies, and challenged festival-goers to a game of co****le.

We’re stoked to have played a small part in bringing our community together for a fun, free family day in sunny Hastings. 🌸

KEEP AN EYE OUT, HAWKE’S BAY

Over the weekend, our Mates4Life trailer was broken into and our generator, valued at around $5,000, was stolen.

This generator plays an important role in our mahi - it powers our BBQ trailer used for Kai & Kōrero sessions and community events across Hawke’s Bay.

We’re asking everyone to please keep an eye out. If you see a generator being sold locally that looks suspicious, or you know anything that could help us track it down, please get in touch with us directly.

And if you can, please share this post. The more eyes we have out there, the better chance we have of getting it back.

The porte cochère is in place, The Lodge branding is up, and we’re ready for next week’s opening of the new community centre at our Greytown Orchards Lifestyle Retirement Village.
