Tomorrow sees a first. The first ever Hawke's Bay Over 50's Team will be taking on Taranaki Over 50's. The Hawke's Bay team will be taking on Taranaki at Sutherland Park in New Plymouth on Waitangi Day. There are 6 Hastings Hibernian players who are part of this history making event. Congratulations to our very own, Steve Kelly, Pine King, Glen Fairbrother, Graeme Woolf, Roger Stonehouse and Bob Morgan. The team will be captained by Bob and Roger is his vice captain. We wish them all the very best representing Hawke's Bay and our club. Hopefully we will have a few photos and a match report to post tomorrow.

Things seem to be picking up. Lower interest rates seem to be peaking people's interest. Lending is becoming affordable again. The banks have all been dropping rates and some of the non bank lenders are now following suit. When was the last time you reviewed your lending facilities? It is time to give me a call and reassess them. Clean up your lending and start the New Year with your lending set up the best it can be for your situation.

Economists are now starting to talk cuts to the official cash rate. Have a read below. So what does this mean? If you are looking to buy property now may be the time to do it. Property prices seem to be rising slowly again and if these economists have it correct we may be at the peak of the interest rate cycle. So if you can afford it now then it would be easier again as rates drop.

Financial markets are pricing in an aggressive easing of almost three OCR cuts next year – a quantum leap from the RBNZ’s previous forecasts of no cut until the first quarter of 2025.
