Last night, just before I went to sleep, I received this message from a client. 🥹
It stopped me for a moment.
We often talk about insurance in terms of policies, premiums, underwriting and claims. But behind every claim is a real person and a family often going through one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
That’s when our role as advisers matters most.
It’s not simply about submitting the paperwork. It’s about being present. Explaining what happens next. Following things up. Advocating when needed. And sometimes, simply giving someone reassurance when everything else in their life feels uncertain.
This month has been incredibly busy. I spent 20 out of 31 days overseas, travelling through Spain, France, Fiji and Sydney, while continuing to work and look after my clients wherever I was.
So receiving this at 10:41pm on the final night of August meant more than this client probably realises.
Targets and achievements are wonderful, but messages like this remind me what success in this profession really looks like.
Being trusted when someone needs you most.
That is a responsibility — and a privilege — I will never take lightly. 🤍
