Kelly joined the OFS team at the end of last year after graduating and completing her Psychology studies at the University of Otago in 2025. With a passion for helping others, she’s brought that same care and insight into the world of insurance.

A passionate road cyclist set out to fulfil a dream of riding through Samoa, until a sudden bike crash left them with critical brain and spinal injuries in a place with limited medical resources. Local hospital staff did everything they could, but the lack of equipment and specialist care put their recovery at serious risk.

Because they had travel insurance, Allianz was able to urgently arrange an air ambulance back to New Zealand, ensuring access to the specialised treatment that ultimately saved their life.

Meet Matt!

Since starting his professional career in the FMCG industry, Matt has worked with some of New Zealand’s most recognisable brands, including Charlies Juice, Hansells, Taylors, and Brown Brothers Wines. Five years in the wine industry took him across the South Island, the Bay of Plenty, and even over to Australia.

After ten years in Christchurch, he and his family chose Dunedin as their new home - closer to relatives and full of opportunity. He thrives on building connections and is excited to bring his people‑first approach into the insurance industry.

He hasn’t quite settled on a rugby team yet, but he’s already embraced the Otago lifestyle and the incredible community that’s welcomed his family.

Last week, some of our team travelled to Alexandra to attend the NZbrokers Professional Development Day.

The day covered a range of key topics, including Liability and Cyber presented by QBE, alongside sessions on upcoming legislative changes such as the Privacy Act, FENZ updates, and proposed Building Act changes.

It was also a great opportunity to connect with other brokers, share insights, and hear about the real-world scenarios clients are currently facing.
A big thank you to QBE for their presentation, and to NZbrokers for organising a well-run and valuable event.
