Meet Matt!

Since starting his professional career in the FMCG industry, Matt has worked with some of New Zealand’s most recognisable brands, including Charlies Juice, Hansells, Taylors, and Brown Brothers Wines. Five years in the wine industry took him across the South Island, the Bay of Plenty, and even over to Australia.

After ten years in Christchurch, he and his family chose Dunedin as their new home - closer to relatives and full of opportunity. He thrives on building connections and is excited to bring his people‑first approach into the insurance industry.

He hasn’t quite settled on a rugby team yet, but he’s already embraced the Otago lifestyle and the incredible community that’s welcomed his family.

We are excited to have Matt as part of our team here at OFS Insurance Brokers!

Last week, some of our team travelled to Alexandra to attend the NZbrokers Professional Development Day.

The day covered a range of key topics, including Liability and Cyber presented by QBE, alongside sessions on upcoming legislative changes such as the Privacy Act, FENZ updates, and proposed Building Act changes.

It was also a great opportunity to connect with other brokers, share insights, and hear about the real-world scenarios clients are currently facing.
A big thank you to QBE for their presentation, and to NZbrokers for organising a well-run and valuable event.

Elaine joined OFS in April 2026 as a Senior Broker, specialising in Commercial Insurance, Domestic Insurance and Rural Insurance solutions.

With more than 34 years of experience across retail and corporate broking, as well as previous underwriting roles, she brings a depth of industry knowledge that elevates the support we provide to clients. Her expertise allows her to deliver practical and informed advice tailored to a wide range of needs.

Elaine is known for being a trusted advocate for her clients, guiding them through every aspect of their insurance programmes. She thrives on collaboration and works closely with the wider OFS team to achieve consistently strong outcomes – We are incredibly lucky to have Elaine as part of our team!
