Financial support options may include:

For consumer customers:
• Financial hardship assistance, which may include a reduction in loan repayment amounts for a period of time, access to term deposit funds or other support.
• Suspension of home loan payments for up to three months for individuals ahead on their repayments and who have a sufficient undrawn balance.

For business customers (including Agri customers):
• Suspension of principal payments on loans for up to three months.
• Deferred payment on credit cards for up to three months.
• A temporary overdraft facility

Let me introduce Kāinga Ora's First Home Partner Scheme!

5% deposit required which can be made up of Kiwisaver and First Home grants.
Kāinga Ora ‘borrows’ the difference between what you have and how much the Bank will be willing to lend you. They then co-own the property with you.

How the numbers look using the below property as an example, which is currently been marketed at $689,000.
Your deposit - $34450
Kāinga Ora’s contribution - $172,250
You borrow - $482,300

The thought is that over the years as you pay off your $482,300 and there is some capital value increase, when you sell to upgrade you will be able to release Kāinga Ora from the contract.
