Warrant of fitness inspections help keep you and other people on the road safe—but to do that inspectors need to be able to carry out the full inspection. If there’s anything obstructing an inspector’s ability to do their job they’ll refuse to do a WoF check on your vehicle.

Job Summary

Skills, Capabilities and Experience

Key Responsibilities

· Diagnosis and rectification of vehicle faults.

· Provision of vehicle preventative maintenance services.

· The fabrication of parts where required or the ordering of parts from preferred suppliers.

· Installation of the replacement parts and reassembly of vehicle to the required standards.

· Management of time in an efficient manner to ensure it is spent working on customer vehicles and with minimal un-chargeable time.

· Ensure activities comply with Acts and Regulations together with adherence to franchise policies, procedures and values.

Technical

· Practical knowledge of motor vehicles and parts for removal and reassembly.

· Strong ability of fault finding and diagnosis.

· Able to identify solutions to remedy faults.

· Parts fabrication and welding skills.

Personal Attributes

· Good communication skills.

· A team player.

· Ability to work autonomously & be self-motivated.

· Creative, resourceful, and meticulous.

Qualifications

· A relevant technical qualification in automotive engineering is desired but not essential

· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an automotive retail repair environment

· WOF authority would be advantageous but not essential.

WOF Authority and Diagnostic Experience preferred.

To have the required mechanical experience and strong diagnostic skills.
A WOF authority would be advantageous.
A current NZ driver’s Licence.
To be an auto electrician would also be advantageous.
Strong focus with attention to detail and great organisational skills.
