Nauru has made cinematic history with the premiere this week of its first ever film, Far End Of The Sea – a landmark production created with the Government of Nauru and Pleasant Island Productions.

Filmed entirely on Nauru, the island itself is the star of the film. Its turquoise waters, dramatic coastlines and lush inland landscapes create a stunning backdrop for this 1840s story of shipwrecked sailor Hamish MacKay and islander Adiben, whose encounter unfolds into a gripping tale of survival, duty, and humanity.

With 58 Nauruans involved in production, the project showcases a major investment in local talent creativity and cultural storytelling for the world stage.

The Nauru Program Office had the opportunity to attend the Global Citizenship Forum in London last week, hosted by Henley & Partners, joining around 200 industry leaders for a full day of discussion on global mobility, investment migration, and evolving citizenship frameworks.

The event featured engaging conversations around several key themes, including the outlook for the UK economy, ongoing global wealth migration trends, and how organisations are evolving to become more internationally focused in response to resilience, innovation, and cross-border investment opportunities.

There was a strong sense throughout the forum that while the UK remains an attractive global destination, many UHNW families are increasingly prioritising flexibility, diversification, and international access amid evolving tax and regulatory environments – dynamics that are highly relevant to Nauru’s citizenship program.

Electronic submissions are now accepted for applications for the Nauru Economic and Climate Resilience Citizenship Program.

This update removes the need for international courier services, helps reduce delays, and makes the application process faster and more efficient for applicants worldwide. However, all compliance and due diligence requirements remain the same. Applicants must still provide certified, original scanned documents, wet-ink signatures, and meet all notarisation, translation, and supporting document requirements. The program continues to uphold strict international compliance standards.

Work is underway to enable electronic signatures in the future along with other exciting initiatives that will improve the application experience.
