A first for Aotearoa.

At yesterday’s New Zealand Green Building Council - NZGBC Green Property Summit, Te Ia at 42 Ponsonby received the first design certificate in the country under the Green Star Buildings NZ framework, recognising that its design is on track to receive a Green Star Buildings NZ rating.

Samson Property Sustainability Manager Bridget Pyc also took to the stage to share the thinking behind the development and the approach shaping the project. The achievement continues Samson’s legacy of pushing sustainable building forward, following projects such as Ironbank and Geyser more than 15 years ago.

Cross Street is having a moment. From the character of the iconic Ironbank building to the energy building around it, this part of the city is a seriously cool place to be. Our tenants are talking about why they are loving Cross Street’s vibe right now too, from the street art and great coffee to the new ramen spot and the buzz on the street.

With the new train station close by, it is only becoming more connected.

Sometimes the details that take longest to perfect make the biggest difference.

We worked closely with our suppliers Rivet Innovate Ltd to source low carbon aluminium for these custom screens, which have now been installed at 137 Great North Road.

The perforated panels help reduce heat load and lower the building's cooling needs, while also creating a soft, misty look across the façade - and at night, a striking beacon of light on Great North Road.

Inside, the screens cast a beautiful dappled light effect, softening direct sunlight and creating a more comfortable, considered environment for tenants.

These are the moments we get excited to see come to life.
