‘Super Lab’ found near Tauranga

A M**h ‘Super Lab’ has been found on a rural property on the outskirts of Tauranga.

Tauranga has been in the news this week. This ‘Super Lab’, M**h and Cannabis found in a raid in Parkvale on Tuesday, 1kg of M**A, otherwise known as Ecstasy, found at another address. We have also had the Guilty pleas of the 4 men in the $20m Co***ne bust, where the drugs came into Tauranga port attached to the hull of a container ship.

The Herald is reporting today that there was a large explosion at the McLaren Fall Road property of the ‘Super Lab’ on wednesday night. The Police raided at 6am Thursday morning. Neighbours describe it as a quiet street – little wonder why they picked this street as no one knew anything until it blew up.

That is a lot of drug activity in one week.

Police say the clan lab in rural Tauranga is one of the biggest ever found in New Zealand.

More than a Third of Northlaand Road Deaths Positove for Drugs.

It looks like Roadside Drug Testing can't come soon enough in the far North.

More than a third of Northland's road crash fatalities this year tested positive for drugs, and police fear the numbers will continue to rise.

New Zealanders are among the highest users of m**h in the world

The NZ Herald has today released a documentary – Fighting the Demon - Inside New Zealand M**h Crisis. It is well worth the 40 mins of your time.

‘A 20-year fight against the drug has failed’
‘It is now purer and more available than ever’

The documentary should be watched by landlords, property managers and employers to get an insight into the world of a m**h user.

‘In 2003, Customs and Police seized 3kg of m**h’
‘During 2016, they confiscated 941kg’

At around the 28:30 mins mark Robin Oxborough, a Counsellor from Te Ara Oranga, talks about the dopamine spike and why people use m**h.
‘I feel so confident when I use it’.
‘For the business man, in his mind he is using it to be more productive’.
‘For the beneficiary, they are using it to get out of their existence’.

We are shown a couple of ‘ex addicts’ going through Rehab. Both of which are from Northland. Rehab facilities are in short supply and hopefully the upcoming budget provides a big boast to funding.

See the link below.

New Zealand has failed to fix its m**hamphetamine crisis. Now we're gripped by a second wave of the epidemic. A powerful new Herald documentary investigates the impact from the inside, through the emotional stories of users, recovering addicts and the ordinary people trying to save them.
