I don't know about you but reviewing my insurances on a regular basis is something which I don't have a good track record at doing as I always seem to be time poor for this type of thinking. Since having a financial adviser who actively supports and encourages me to think about my financial health, wealth and wellbeing I am actually starting to be a lot more engaged and interested in insurances. I encourage you to engage with a financial adviser if you have not already - it does make a real difference.

Today the Government announced an in-principle purchase agreement with Janssen Pharmaceutica for up to five million COVID-19 vaccines.

Janssen and its parent company Johnson & Johnson have a strong track record producing safe and effective vaccines globally and in New Zealand.

A key point of difference for the Janssen vaccine is that it’s likely to be a single-dose.

Our main priority is to make sure every New Zealander has access to safe and effective vaccines. Any COVID-19 vaccine used in New Zealand will be subject to approval by Medsafe, including agreed criteria for efficacy and quality, and data from well-designed clinical trials involving tens of thousands of people.

Access to the earliest COVID-19 vaccines will be for those in our community who are most in need, like frontline workers and vulnerable populations. Like all other vaccinations in New Zealand, COVID-19 vaccines will not be mandatory.

From today, everyone must wear a face covering on all public transport in Auckland, and on all commercial domestic passenger flights nationwide.

This includes buses, trains and ferries, and drivers of passenger vehicles such as taxis and Ubers. It will not be compulsory for passengers in taxis and Ubers to wear face coverings although it is strongly encouraged.

Children under the age of 12 do not have to wear masks, nor do people with certain medical conditions. Children and young people travelling on school buses are also exempt from mask requirements.
